Wavemaker placement in narrow tank

Hi all,

I had a question in placement of the wavemaker. As shown in the diagram below, I placed the wavemaker in position (1) currently. I am thinking whether I should put it in position (2) to ensure that the water flow is enough in the whole tank (esp. the right hand side of the tank). Any suggestion?

Should I put on the upper part of the tank where the water will blow against the water return output, or I should put to the lower part of the tank to increase the flow beneath?

That means I will create a lower flow area in the right hand side of the tank, right? Thank you.
