Hi everyone, so after what feels like forever, I eventually purchased my very first 2 clownfish yesterday .
I have a couple of questions, first, does anyone have any tips or suggestions for the placement of my wavemaker or the direction I have my return nozel. It may not be clear from the pics but I have my wavemaker pointing down behind the rocks.
Second thing is, does anyone think my fish or finding it hard work to swim? The wavemaker is a jebao sw-2, I have it set on the lowest setting on pulse mode but the fish don't seem to move from that one spot. Im not sure if they just need to get used to it and their new tank or if its too strong for them.
I've tried moving it in a few different directions but they just seem to hang out underneath it, I presume that's where the least flow is.
I've attached some pics of tank to try and help give a better idea. 20210627_074245.jpg 20210627_074245.jpg

Congrats on your new fish!. I wouldn't worry about flow for fish, they will find their own spot that they like, and then they'll never move from that spot, thats what clowns do. I think a lot of clowns hang out in corners cause corners are typically low flow spots, or under wavemakers like you said. Give them a few days to settle in. Good luck.

Lol. They are “hosting” your power head.

I have seen it before where they seem to treat a power head like an anemone. Your power head offers cover and protection in a barren tank.

fish can handle a lot more flow than we think. I wouldn’t worry too much about how high the flow js.

Thank yous both for the replies. Does the positioning of the wavemake and return pump look okay to yous?

Clowns are weird as you’ll soon find out. They take a little while to settle in but in time they will move around the tank. Took my guys about a week till they were comfy and cursing around.
