Cleaned the pumps today, no vinegar or anything, just running tapwater.
However, for some reason one of the wavemakers won't turn on anymore. Plugged it back in, tried different settings, reset the controller, nothing works.

I tried connecting it to the controller of the other wavemaker, still nothing. Connecting the other wavemaker to the broken pump's controller works just fine though.

Any thoughts why it just died? It doesn't even vibrate, just completely dead.
It's a Coralbox QP-5. Less than a year old.

Maybe a dumb question but, did you try to manually turn the propellor? If something was bumped out of alignment it'll have trouble turning just as the Hydor pumps do if not 100% aligned.

Not a dumb question at all, because I hadn't thought of that :p
But that's not the problem though. Just checked and I can easily turn the propellor.

Had it drying outside the tank overnight. Being wet shouldn't be a problem, but thought I'd try it anyway. Just put it back in and unfortunately still dead...

Hoping I can still return it to the store without a receipt.

Ok, found the issue.
The rubber part that seals off the little compartment where the wiring goes in let loose a while back. I simply glued it back, not realizing that the glue creeped into the compartment and started hardening around the wires. Removed all the glue and the pump worked right away.

Used aquarium friendly sillicone this time to seal the compartment, so it doesn't creep in again.

Probably wasn't the safest thing with the glue, but nothing went wrong fortunately.

My hydom wave maker has just stopped working, it is 2 months old & very clean.
It’s a 120 model, does it come apart , anyone know?
I plugged in in kitchen sink, gave quick clean through gaps with tiny bottle brush , casing gets warm, but still not working, it has 4 small bits ton sides that look as though if pushed in should release the 2 halves, but I can’t push all 4 at same time!
Suggestions please
