What do you use to move water in your tank?
I have a 50 lagoon style that I’m setting up but I’m having a hard time picking something to move water thats customizable (varied speed).
I have an old spec gyre in my frag tank that I love but this is going to be a display with mostly soft/lps and some easier of the sps.
I also have a 10 with single speed powerheads and a 10 with nothing but the return pump.

I recently bought a couple of Jebao reverse nano wavemakers off Amazon. They are on sale cheap because they are being discontinued. They were way less than what Reef Breeders was asked even on 'close out'.

They are dead quiet, variable speed, 4 modes, feeder timer and the pump face is shallow, similar to others but with a unique dual magnet that allows the face to have some directional control as well.

I've been quite happy with them.

Hi! I also have a 50 lagoon I found that the gyre is the best bang for your buck imho you can probably try the jebao version but I have the ice cap 1k it was inexpensive compared to everything else... and it was fine for the first year I mounted it vertically in the back corner and am just now adding a Nero 5 on the opposite side to make the water more turbulent but I would say you don’t have to spend ecotech money to have good results

I use 2 Tunze 6025’s on a 54 gallon. My 210 is being delivered tomorrow. Needless to say I’ve been researching wave-makers for a while now.
I’m torn myself.
Tunze is a solid brand with great customer service and warranty. The cable lengths of their wave makers are longer than most. Was actually considering 4 Tunze 6105’s for the new tank.

Sicce is another with a great warranty. My return pump is Sicce and has been great for 3 years straight.

Vortech lots of people love. Expensive, but has its advantages. No cords in tank, ability to swap out wet sides. No heat transfer. Varied opinions on customer service. Disadvantages, isn’t directional and expensive. Some have ran them for years with zero issues. You hear about magnets rusting out. Maybe due to vinegar. Even though it says or said to use vinegar in the cleaning instructions. Or so I read. Not sure how the new mobius app is working either.
Too short off cable length for me on the Vortechs. I’d have to buy extension cables to work.

Octo pulse 4’s . Another one I’ve been looking at.
Haven’t found too much negativity on these. They’re semi directional like the Nero 5’s. Then you hear about the Nero’s having weak magnets and killing fish. I like the Nero’s though.

Lots of folks like Jabeo. Inexpensive and get the job done. You could buy multiple for the price of a Vortech.

There so many brands out there, and I think most will get the job done!!! These were just a few I personally was looking at. No need for all the bells and whistles to have a thriving tank.
Just my 2 cents! :)

If your willing to spend the money getting the correct has to be the best bet especially now with Mobius.

The ability to swap the wet side for a clean one is awesome(gotta buy extra wet side)

You can very easily have a batter back up to it's diy or buy eco techs(diy is way better)
