I’m getting ready to start a new build in a innovative marine lagoon 50 that’s going to be a mixed reef and was looking for wavemaker suggestions I was looking at the Nero 3 or 5 does anyone have experience using them in a lagoon 50

Nero 3 very good as is koralia and sicce brand

I'm a big fan of the Nero design, I employ several Jebao SLW's and love them.

neros are great, i have 2 nero 5's and 2 nero 3's in a 4 foot tank
what length is your tank??? nero 5s are very powerful

While I love my MP10's and the ease of cleaning them, I hate the price they command. On the other hand, they have very decent resale value.

I have 1 nero 3 and can honestly say if I hadn't already owned the mp10's, I would have bought 2 nero 5's and been done with it. While not as easy to clean as the MP's they move a ton of water, and unlike the MP's who can only be pointed forward, the nero's can be "positioned" somewhat.

In my experience, the Nero 5 move a ton of water and just work. The app can be a bit funky, but that's because you have to turn location on...which doesn't make sense. If you're okay with a couple of thin cords in your tank, they're the best powerheads you can get on the market for smaller tanks. Cleaning used to be a pain, but I buy bulk food grade citric acid and clean only one at a time. If I'm feeling ultra lazy, I leave it in the solution for hours while I dilly dally around and it's a quick brush to remove everything. Taking one offline for a few hours will have 0 effects on the tank as 1 will still move plenty of water to run it effectively on. 1 Nero 5 is still 3,000 gph at 100%, which is 60x on a 50 gallon, but likely more because of rock displacement so there's no need to crank it up either.

Never had any problems, I’m using it on IOS.

I really like my Nero 3 and Nero 5. There is so much you can do with it, even though once you have the right combination you never touch it, lol !

I copy/paste my settings to other tanks, so I know what you mean.

Another vote for the Jebao SLW's. I have several different models, they hold up well and are budget friendly! I also have the wifi version so I can adjust the flow pattern from my phone app.
