Sup Merica

I ordered myself 2 RW20 for my new 1000 cube (39inch) 550 high (27inch)

Im gonna have a crack at sps dominant tank & know they require high flow.

But because the tank doesnt have so much length do u guys think 2xRW20 will be to strong?

20000 lph (5300 gph) each wave maker in a tank DT volume 500-550l (145gal), so that is about 80 times the display volume if they are full blast & that excludes the return pump.

Anybody running rw20 on such a short tank?

Thanks in advance

Do you plan on having sand? I would say in an sps dominant tank that wouldn't be too much flow. You'll probably just need to play with arrangement a bit to get that chaotic and non linear flow. I personally run 2x maxspect gyre (150 and 250 on new controller) at 70% random pattern in my 80 gallon shallow.

Yeah i am planning to have sand. That liniar flow is what im concerned about. Ill place it at the back and aim them towards the side panes & hopefully it doesnt blast the corals directly

You would definitely have to play with the pumps. Getting correct flow can be a tedious task. I would say those should work fine and if they don't run at full blast, then bonus. They will last longer if not running at full speed. But you could try positioning one aimed at the water surface and then the other one giving more linear flow. This should help create a more random flow.

Cool i took the AQlink controllers as well. So i can control their speed from 1-100% & set times for when each should change between modes or switch off for a duration of time. So can creat a whole day woth diff flowmodes and speeds. Very exoted about that flexibility.

Keep in mind, the range is 1-100% however, the pumps won't kick on until 35-45%. Also, I found the "mixed" mode to be buggy. Everything else works fine though. Mixed mode just means it randomly cycles between all other available modes.

Thanks for the heads up. Will check it out.
