Wavemaker

Hi, i just cycled a new reef aquarium today. I used a wavemaker from my old tank, my old tank had too much nitrates and algae growth. When i installed the old wavemaker in my new tank, a few debris came out of it but I cleaned the wavemaker alrdy. Will my new tank be infected again with algae?
P.s i left the wavemaker dry for 2 days.

Would be grateful for your answers. really need your help.

What kind of algae were you dealing with? Imo algae isn't something your gonna infect your new tank with. Algae needs a certain environment to thrive and I doubt your new tank has the same water parameters as your old one.

nah, im not sure. Im just worried that the small pieces of stuff inside the wavemaker coming out when i opened it will infect the aquarium.
