I am asking for a little input on water flow in a 30 deep aquarium, the tank is 48L x 30D x 24T. This will be a heavily stocked (fish and coral) SPS dominated reef.

I currently have 2x Mp40s from my last tank and feel this just wont be enough for a tank this deep. I felt on my 24 inch deep tank 1 MP40 was really on the edge of being enough flow front to back so I am sure that extra 6 inches will be too much for 1 pump on each side wall. I will also be running a Jecod PP8 that will be in a bottom back corner to block across the back wall.

I was thinking of adding 2x gyre style pumps to handle flow in the back half or 1/3 of the tank. They would be on the side walls pointing towards the middle. Would this be a good mix of water movement with the MP40s or would it be better to add another 2 of the ecotec pumps?

All the pumps talking to each other is of little concern to me, however I would like the opposing pumps to be in contact.

The new Icecap Gyres looked pretty attractive, any thoughts?

I have 2 MP40s on my 60x24x30H & I get plenty of flow from top to bottom. Running them Reefquest mode at 30-70%
