Waves and tank safety

After years of running correct pumps I decided to actually sync them and try tidal swell mode. I love it!

Is there valid concern over the waves causing significant enough stress to result in a tank failure? I have a Marineland 300 DD if that helps.

Could potentially damage coral tissue... I don't think a tank failure would ensue.
