Wayne's 125g build

A few progress pictures. I’m now culturing phyto to add to my tank manually right now. Have a jabao dissing pump on order to automate that through reefpi.

Right now, Alk is 2dKH, Cal is 460, and I need to get a mag test kit. Currently using API tests.
Tank is looking good you need to check your Alkalinity again to make sure get correct numbers. It seem pretty low for the tank.

Latest test results:
Phosphate: 0.25
Nitrate: 5
pH: 7.8
Salinity: 1.025
alk: 6
Calcium: 520 (maybe higher)
Magnesium: 1350

All but magnesium done with API tests, magnesium done with salifert test.

I added a gorgonian (purple) about 3 days ago, but it doesn't appear to be doing well, losing parts of its 'skin'. I moved it to the top of my rocks thinking it might need more light, but not seeming to help yet. Any suggestions?

The white lights aren’t on yet, not sure how much you can tell fr this picture

A pic under whites will be better when you can please.

I'll get a picture with the white lights on as soon as I can. Also have Hanna testers on order so I can get better test measurements, API seems to be a guessing game sometimes.

My wife sent me this picture. I might have to wait to get home this evening and turn the whites way up:

Ok I will wait for a white pic, no rush, gorgs get "dirty" looking easily, they attract micro algae and things like cyano, if it is not attached give it a good waft in front of a powerhead and let it settle and get a pic! ;)

When I get home I'll blow it off with a turkey baster and take some better pictures with the lights turned all the way up. Right now I have my lights doing a sunrise/sunset pattern with 80% blue and 30% white.

See if these are any better:

They like high flow, if I got that I would take a makeup brush to it, I have a cheap pound / dollar shop one I use on the corals, if you are going to try it only brush one way, base to tip and then a waft in front of a powerhead.
It sounds like tough love but that coral needs a helping hand.

I upped the flow some, and used a turkey baster on it. Here’s a picture from this morning. Any hope for it?
