I got my WB 130.4 with the lights on blue Friday and am now seeing all the Black Friday deals and am overwhelmed. I just ordered a maxspect gyre xf330 but I have no clue what else to get. I’ve been taking notes on components each time I see a recommendation on here. I’m starting to wish I just got the WB blueprints but I wanted to research components and get what’s right for me. Help please and thank you! Happy thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping!

So, I'd recommend making a plan for what you want and then wait for the deals. Not the reverse. You'll likely spend more money on items you won't want or need.

And Black Friday deals are only a few percent more (if that) than normal deals that come around frequently. Don't buy into the "I have to get it now or lose money forever" - that's why the invented Black Friday. :)

Plan first, then buy.

I would look into getting a second gyre head or another type of power head so you can have plenty of tank turnover and variable turbulence. On my 120 gal tank I have a mp40, a mp10, and I just ordered a gyre 350 to replace the pump on the other side. Congrats on getting the tank.

Not sure which WB 130.4 package you have but it depends on what you plan on keeping. Last year when I bought my 130.4 it included the Nyos 160 skimmer which was awesome. I run a Vectra S1 return pump, ATI Sunpower 8x54 light fixture and four MP40's. I also run a 4 stage dosing pump. Thats pretty much it for "equipment" goes.

I was hoping to put the xf330 on the right and keep the left side clean since you see it when you walk in the front door. I could put another pump on the back if needed.

recommendations for a skimmer?

Congrats on your new tank.
i second the idea of another gyre pump. I have two in my tank (also a wb130), mounted vertical on the back walls and programmed to alternate in time so there is lots of random flow. Other things to think about are a skimmer, a good heater, spare socks (and/or the cups that fit in the sock holders that are great for some extra rubble or media bags).

So both gyres are mounted on the back and not the sides? What size gyres do you have? Also? What skimmer do you have? I plan to get a chiller too. I have a full list of needed equipment and wish list items but need to narrow down brands and models. I also need to check out any 130.4 build threads on here for ideas. I definitely like the filter cups that fit in the sock holders.

I have two IceCap gyres, both the 1k. I found that those are enough flow. I run each on a ramping flow between 10% & 60%. They’re on the back, each towards the corners, with the gyres rotated so that the flows are pointed almost at each other. And my skimmer is a CoralBox D700.
