WB Frag w/Vectra M2 slow run

So I’ve got a strange issue but to keep it short and simple my vector M2 pump running at 100% is only showing to move 840-ISH gallons per hour. With 145 gallon tank I’m not getting enough turnover and wondering what I could be missing with this plumbing set up. I’m using 1 inch PVC out of the pump to the hose that came for the return on the water box aquarium. Thanks in advanced I’m sure I’m missing something.

Could be head loss if the water has to travel far to get to the DT. Any hard plumbing fittings decrease flow as well. Finally, I’ve read some reviews that the apex flow monitor itself can lower flow. Hope this helps,

Well interesting I’ll look into those. I was excited about monitoring flow for sure!
 
That hard 90 and long flexible tube turn do add quite a bit of head pressure. I wouldn't discount that as the primary reasons why you're only seeing 800ish gph vs maybe 1000-1400 based on assumed height

Any recommendations on rectifying that ? 45s and hard pipe all the way ?
 
You would have to measure to make sure but it looks like its possible to use 1-2 45 degree pvc elbows. If not then just shortening the flexible tubing to correct that downward curve should help somewhat.

Let me pick your brain, I have the availability to heat hard conduit correctly and could bend sweeping turns , would this be even better than 45s in your opinion?
 
I assume if you can maintain the internal shape then that should be fine since as long as its material thats safe to use in marine conditions. Might be more effort than its worth however.
 
Good news as suspected, the flow sensor was the hinderance! Flow felt like it doubled after plumbing in a coupler between the unions! I may attempt to try to 2@ flow sensor just cause but idk if it’s worth it!
