My amm is 0. Nitrite 1. Nitrate 2 with Api test. Salinty 35. Ph 8.3 Alk 12.5 with salifert. Was going to do a 3 gal water change today on my 15. I've got a bottle of apocyclopse and phyto due in this afternoon. Was wondering should I do the water change or introduce the pods to the existing water and see what they actually do overnight.

Did you just finish cycling the tank? Nitrates are usually much higher after a cycle....

I don't think you need to change the water, when it gets to 30-40 nitrates then you should be thinking about water change

Ok. That's my opinion also. The girl at my store got me worried cause I was showing any. So I changed 3 gal just to lower everything and will put the pods in after lights go off. Pods will still have stuff to consume. I have a very light dusting of diatoms that my mix of snails are actually doing a good job on. Hope the pods help them along. Very light on only a couple of small spots on the glass. Building a pod hotel for my return area. So I'll see how all this all goes.
