Hey everyone,

I have a Red Sea max 250. It is a 65 gal tank that has been up and running for about 2 years now. I normally do a 10 gal water change every week to 10 day's. I am in the process of buying a bubble magus dosing pump and was thinking of trying to do a almost constant water change. What I mean is I would set the dosing pump to remove x amount of water throughout the day and add the same x amount at the same time. I was wondering if anyone has done this and would like to get your thoughts on it.

Thank's

Seen quite a few people do this type of constant water changes using their skimmers, via wet skimming.

There is a guy in my local club who does this, he uses an apex though to make sure it is as fail safe as possible. I don't know much about how he set everything up other than the fact that it is working great for him.

I don't think the head unit is meant to handle that kind of load. The tubing would probably wear down quickly.

Thanks eveyone
I also use a apex and plan on using a salinity probe to shut my ato and wc set up if my salinity gets out of my acceptable range. Also with my tank only being 65 gal I plan on only keeping a 4 gal vat for my new saltwater so worst case scenario will be I get 4 gal of water on the floor
