WD Tenuis light requirements

What spectrum would be better for a WD tenuis?

X2 Reef led 90s

Blue 100% White 70% Violet 75%
Or
100% blue 10% white 20% violet

I'm currently using the first spectrum and in 7 months of owning this WD I haven't seen a change in colour or growth ‍ wondering if my whites are to high

If it hasn't grown in 7 months I'd look into other factors, spectrum is really just for tweaking minor colors. WD should do fine in most high light spectrums. Do you have a picture of it?

Am i right in thinking that white light doesn't do anything for coral growth? Just makes it pleasant to our eyes

More intense light, as long as it's nothing excessive, will make it grow faster and color it up a little differently.

You think I should raise my whites higher then their currently at 70%?

I had the best coloration when I was blasting mine with par. It got pinks and golds like crazy. That was under g3 pros at 80%. I ran the ab+ but tweaked it to be more white.

Keep in mind and lot of the gnarly pictures you see of WD tend to be under all blue and through an orange filter.
Here is a picture when it was getting blasted under g3 pros, this picture was taken under ab+ tuned a little more white.


Here is the same piece under radiums mh bulbs 6 months and a fragging later.


Personally I think WD takes a decent amount of white lights and par to look its best under all blue settings.

Lovely looking coral mate just wished mine would look like this... i have my blue on 100% and white 70% and also violet on 70% wondering if I should raise the whites a bit more

Really depends on the par levels and what level the coral is getting. White intensity is something you should adjust to your preferences, but more light is good as long as you're not reaching the limits of the photosynthetic activity in the corals.

When i first got the lights i was using red sea 23k preset which was 100% blue and 10% white the WD was getting around 260 - 280 par but after a few months I didn't notice any colour or growth hence why I've raised the whites to 70% for more par but still haven't notice anything.. I'm baffled

Mine still coloring, under 6xt5 and sbreefbar. I don't have par readings, but corals are about 17" under lighting, which is a ton of light. I grew acros on sandbed at around 30" before with very good color. Here's what mine is like.
