Ok guys this is my first set up with a wet dry system. Got back into the hobby and started up a 55gal show reef tank. Everything is going well, now 6 weeks into the set up and im finding alot of salt creep on the flex return hose at the overflow box. I have tried jamming this hose in the best i can without braking the fitting.. any idea on how to get this small leak to stop?
Is it possible to use a small amount of plumbers tape around the hose fitting before i slide it in or are there other tricks to this?
Thank you for your help.

What type of hose and fitting
I use lagoona no kink hose and sch80 pvc barbed fittings. Used some pvc glue slid it on and then a hose clamp. No leak.

I was also going to say pic glue. It stopped my leak this week. Spent hour on it using hose clamps nothing worked until a slapped some glue on it.

This is the stock flex hose from eshopps that snuggly fits up in the bulkhead of the overflow box. Should i really glue it in?

I would. I would rather replace bulk head and hose then have any leak. I have 6foot by 2 foot rectangle on my hard wood floor because I had a bulk head that had salt creep. Had no idea till I took tank down how bad it was

Good point thanks for the help.
I will glue it up on my water change so it will have good drying time and i clean the hose back up.
