[emoji631][emoji631][emoji631][emoji631]. My great grandpa was a WWII veteran who was shot in the arm and still fought through. He also rose one of the many flags at Iwo Jima. He got a Purple Heart from all this. Sadly he died when I was really little

This is why we enjoy this day as families and friends play, barbecue, swim and relax. They did this for us all. Remember them.

Thanks a mil for remembering our fallen heroes and also those who have served or continue to serve. My brother served in Vietnam and we are very grateful and blessed that he came back to us alive. His son served in Afghanistan and we were blessed again by his eventual safe return. Others of our friends and loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice. We never forget them or the freedom they fought for and represent!

True that. My dad comes from a family of 6 brothers, three of which are in some way related to defense (One Air force, one a SEAL, and one in some kinda intel), as well as a father who has worked tirelessly to keep improving the technology of our armed forces for several decades (Korea, 'Nam, Afghanistan--retired in 02). My mom's dad was a pilot during 'Nam and retired after his plane was shot down by the Cong. Her uncle had a Purple Heart, survived D Day, and also was a member of . My God, we were so lucky that all our loved ones came back and lived to tell the tale. Oh, also, the SEAL, my uncle Vick, sailed across the coast of Africa to the Gulf of Guinea, and he became a Diamond Shellback of the Royal Order of the Shellbacks-- thats a thing, BTW. He's a pretty cool guy.

We took this at the Pearl Harbor Memorial a few years ago. May we always remember those who have willingly sacrificed themselves for our country, and may God bless America.
