I bought it used and cleaned the cartridge pieces with vinegar before use. I have a 475 gph pump on it at full blast and my cupful of biopellets are barely tumbling. I had to lean the reactor to one side too just to get it going. Now a month later and they're almost not even moving anymore so I'm going to have to clean it again very soon.

So do the reactors just suck or am I still not giving it enough flow? I can understand if I packed it with media but I'm using less than a cup.

Can you borrow a more powerful pump from someone and try it out before you buy one? I have a BRS dual reactor running off my return pump, but I don’t “tumble” carbon pellets (one side), and only gently move PhosGuard around, and don’t “tumble” it (other side). However from the output hose pressure, I have no doubt that even pushing through two chambers I could tumble just about anything; makes me think your pump is under-powered. Hope this helps! :)

I have a Sicce 1.5 which I think is 358 gph and it tumbles the heck out of GFO and previously bio pellets in mine. Sounds like you have a week pump or you are having it pump to high or to far possibly.
