The use of for watching a live feed of our display, sump, and equipment is starting to become popular and easier with more technology being available. If you have a webcam, phonecam, or Ip cam post what you have what program, software, or app you use and what equipment you use for camera and used to watch it on. You might also share what you had trouble with or are having trouble with there is a ton of people with all kinds of skills on here that might help make it easier or already did it and fixed it. We all have different equipment just like are tank setup and prefer different methods and ways no way is right or wrong (some are just better). By sharing this info we may be able to make enjoying are hard work a little easier and maybe not break the bank doing it. If you have a controller and use it please share how you added the live feed to your controller. Another thing that might be useful info is how you mounted it. Feel free to add pics.

I tested this app out (Download_Athome Camera) with my computer with windows8 and my Samsung S4 it worked great on both. I tried to figure out away to add it to the apex but it really does not have an address to refer it to. I have a driod incredible2, that I'm going to have my bro-inlaw @Msawyer4 try and rig up to my tank so I can monitor it while I am gone. I know for sure this app on a computer will support at least 4 phones at once so I might find another cheap phone to add to sump area and maybe try to rig up a top down box to mount one too.

I have seen some people post on other threads about why would you want to do this and watch your tank, if something would happen will you was gone that it would ruin your whole trip by worrying. I think it is a piece of mind for one because your not worrying now that you can see what is going on, two if something does happen you might also be able to find someone to go fix it before it does more damage( soaking wood floors, mold carpet, burn up electrical, ect). If something easy like pump quiets that can maybe fixed real quick by a friend you will know it before you tank sitter gets there and finds it. You can also make sure your tank sitter is doing there job if you have one too. In my line of work we go by trust but verify.

I think something like this app or an IP Cam app is a smart choose. It kind of the same concept as a controller adding (other then having more control) more issuance that all our hard work and pride is safe, kind of like a baby cam/monitor. It also a plus to have a live feed to show off you prized hard work is almost better then a pic unless your like trido and a few others that can take pics that look just as real as the real thing.

The app I tested out was referred in another thread by @
Marquiseo about IPhone web cam, but they have firmware for almost all set ups if it can download on app and has service, data, or wifi it will work. Just to put it out there I have nothing to do with the company, just my review on them. Other then not being able to embed it into Apex Fusion Dash this is one of the easiest apps I have found and was secure.

It is a shame that there are people out there looking to hack into your system though any means. It would be nice to be able to she a live feed of our tanks on here specially since use younger generation like pics and images over reading. With the knowledge on here we might be able to set up a solid system that is effective, easy to setup, and we can feel comfortable to share to the public. Thanks for your time and keep sharing your knowledge and experience good, bad, or ugly.
