Into week 4 of my first marine tank. 32 gallon BioCube is doing well. Water: Salt 1.025, temp 77.8 , Amonnia-0 Nitites 0, Nitrates less than 5.0 PPM, PH 7.9.
I added some buffer to bring my PH up. Got my new Red Sea test kit and will compare to the API kit. I will be able to test for KH which will help.
QT tank is doing much better, got one new Clown to replace the one I lost, he and the other Clown and the Star Blennie are all eating well. Running Copper in that tank and doing water changes every other day.
Added two Blue Legged Hermits last week- one already moved into a new shell. Today I added three Trocus Snails and two Nasarious Snails. Drip acclimated them and they all went to work right away.
I also set up my small Refugium.
I bought the In Tank Refugium and made a small alteration. I got some lexan and cut two small pieces and glues them to the open sides of the In Tank box. I also drilled a few holes in it. This will allow me to raise it up and keep all the Chaeto inside.
I added a some live rock rubble at the bottom of the fuge basket. I added Nano Glo to the back to light the fuge basket area.
Last week I added 5260 Copepods from Algae Barn.
Been watching the 52 weeks of Reefing every night- really enjoying the science behind this hobbby and it is awesome to see my kids learning.
To think that I did not want my wife to get a horse because it was an expensive hobby....
