Weekly bottle back dosing

Hi guys,

Would it be beneficial to dosing bottle bacteria’s like dr Tim’s eco balance for example at least in the short term for new tanks less than a year old?

I dose microbacter 7 on a daily basis on all young tanks and have noticed that the ugly stage is much less pronounced than when I haven’t in the past. Maybe I’ve gotten better at other aspects of reef keeping that make it so that I just know how to handle these stages better but I do believe that this helps with at least establishing nutrient balance early on.

Hi mom, at what point did you stop? Was it at a year or month milestone?

I have heard examples just like you that have reduced the severity of the uglies early on.

I’m not thinking about nitrate control more of maybe diatom control?
