Hi guys,

I live in Hong Kong and I recently bought a small frag which I think it's a weeping willow toadstool. Can anyone ID this? I've only seen one place that sells this and the owner refuses to sell the big ones as he claims they are extinct in some parts of Asia. The price of the big ones are ridiculous anyway which no one would buy.

My current frag is about the size of my pinky and the polyps do extend to a decent size 1.5-2 inches. I'm pretty sure it's not an average toadstool so I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me if it is a weeping willow and is it rare? Thanks in advance!

I've never heard of a weeping willow toadstool. What makes it different from a regular toadstool?

It took me a while to ID it but these ones have very long tentacles/polyps

Yes it took me a while to find the proper name for it. My LFS told me the Chinese name of it and that it was very rare and I always see toadstools around. I'm positive this is a different type of toadstool

I'll try to swing by the LFS at the weekend and share a pic with you guys. The big ones are just mesmerising....

Hey guys. As promised a pic of the weeping willow. Wasn't as long as it could extend but still amazing!

Holy Cow thats cool. Never heard of them, but now I see why you wanted one.

Well I do have a tiny frag but it's going to take years before it gets to that size!

It is quite rare. I couldn't seem to find much details of it on the internet!

Very nice pic!
