Weight of tank on 2nd floor?

Thoughts on putting Waterbox 90.3 on 2nd story of house in extra bedroom? I am doing the math and it roughly could weigh 1,200-1,300lbs or more when accounting for the tank/stand/sump/rocks/water/sand and other misc equipment. This is a ~25year old home built around 2000 and I am not sure which are load bearing walls. Dont want to go too much smaller for the display tank but worried that the load of everything may be too much.

Thoughts? Advice? Concerns?

You want it against/above a wall/structural element that goes straight down all the way to the foundation. Do you know which way the joists run? An exterior wall they terminate in is load bearing.

Thank you. Unfortunately I dont know which way the joists run but can use the guide of going against a wall that goes down to the foundation.

Years ago I had a 150 gallon + 80 gal sump in a different house and had to remove it bc it started to sink into the floor (prob weighed almost 4000lbs). Cant make that mistake again!

If you’re unsure, probably a good indicator it’s probably not worth the risk. Also, the flood factor if something happens. That’s why it’s bottom floor for me. Learned the hard way once.

Need to find out which way they go. I wouldn't put it parallel to the joists without support. But 60 gallons perpendicular doesn't sound like a problem.

Call in a structural engineer. It shouldn't cost you that much
