Weird behavior

so i currently have a yellow angelfish and a royal gramma and they do this weird thing where the angelfish stays still and hovers over the gramma and the gramma like turns to its side and like hugs it almost ive never seen fish do that

Unless it is a really bizarre mating display, it is a basic dominance and submission display.
Kind of like grade school pushing and shoving and getting in your space kind of display.

Dominance does not necessarily involve aggression.

You were right after a while they stopped doing it and now live peacefully with each other
