Weird clear blob.. what is this?

Hi! Does anyone have any idea what this might be? I found this on a random old frag plug I left in my refugium. It’s firm, pretty clear, about a cm long, and attached pretty well. Thank you!

Looks like a mini Portuguese man o war without the tentacles.

Do you have bubble algae? Kinda looks like the ‘shell’ of a popped bubble algae.

I have, like, two little bubbles in the main display. So yes, but mainly no. This has been mostly covered by sand in the sump for some time, and there wasn’t a bubble on it before, so taking it out and finding this is a bit of a surprise. It could be, so I’ve left it in the light to see if it greens up.

My money is on dead bubble algae bubble. They partially deflate and lose their chlorophyll when they die leaving a semi-soft translucent packet.

No shrimp in the tank, but I do see what you mean. It’s attached, kinda flexible, full with pressure inside.

it’s very firm, not deflated. It has pressure inside, not squeezable. A real mystery right now!
