weird coralline growth?

So, I am getting nice pink coralline on the tank glass, but nowhere on the rocks? What gives? I have my fair share of SPS corals, so I know it will not grow much, but better on the rocks, so I dont have to keep scraping it off the front glass!

In my two previous tanks I experienced the same thing. Eventually it did spread to the rocks but it seeded on the glass first. Maybe something to do with the texture....

well I know coralline has an affinity for plastic, and will grow like crazy on anything plastic first, like overflows, powerheads, etc. but this is just glass, strange, I guess I will wait and see, thanks

Coraline likes a more blue light so it may be just the way your light is hitting it? How old is your tank?

How old is the rock thats in there?

do you have mh lighting? when I had my tank set up with mh it would only grown where there was less intense light now that I have LED lighting it is growing on the rocks & less on the sides

details: tank has been set up at least 2 years now, rock I have had running from previous tanks, so much older, lighting is t5, ...
