Was wondering if anyone could help identify a cause of these dots on my fox face. Tank has been running almost 2 years and fox fave had been in there since the beginning woke up this morning and the fox face had several almost perfect white spots on it. I was thinking maybe a sting from the elegance coral but not sure.

These multiple circles suggest stings from anemone or coral or injury from urchin and has become a bacterial issue.
Fish should be placed in quarantine and treated with Seachem Kanaplex
What other tankmates do you have in tank and any anemone or urchin Present?
how do other fish look?

All other fish are fine. I have some anthias, 2 wrasses, 2 clowns and 2 tangs in a 125 gallon, all fish have been together since November 2021. No anemone Several torches hammers and an elegance and an urchin. Unfortunately the fish passed before we could do anything. Just trying to pinpoint so I can prevent it next time.

Dang I never would’ve thought that. I was suspecting the elegance coral as it was the newest addition. But couldn’t find much on them. How does an urchin attack happen? Might just have to get rid of it since he’s all the time messing up my tank anyways lol

The foxface will get too close, in some cases trying to retrieve a piece of food that fell in spikes and Wham-o- pricked by needles

Don't know how it happened - however, the likelihood is that it was the elegance coral (depending on how big it was) - however, neither a sting from an elegance coral nor a prick from an urchin should cause these lesions. If I had to bet between the 2 - I would say the coral. I once fed a 6 inch discus to my elegance coral..... The sting can be quite injurious to fish.

That was my first thought. It’s about the size of a small tea plate and that was the side of the tank the fox face liked to hang out but I never seen it get that close. But it was fine last night then this morning beat all to crap so I’m not sure when it happened. Makes you wanna buy a camera up for stuff like this
