This is the second time this same sand formation has popped up in my sand bed. I have no clue what is causing it, but it sort of looks like a sea horse to me....but I don't have sea horses.

The first time it appeared, I thought it was the remains of a fish that went missing, but when I picked it up, it just fell apart. It was just sand clumped together.

Today it appeared again and in roughly the same spot as before. What I did notice is that my two fighting conchs were right by it. Could they be causing it?

What is it?

Do you have a wrasse that sleeps in the sand? Could be some of their bed time mucous coating with sand and debris stuck to it.

I do have a carpenters flasher wrasse!

I guess that's it. Still just weird because it showed up at the front of the tank and that's not where the wrasse sleeps. He/she sleeps in the rock work towards the back opposite end. I guess some of the critters drag it out somehow.

Thank you for the insight!

np... I see the "sack" from my six line floating around a lot.. it never sticks in the sand.. but the thought came to mind when I saw that.. hopefully that's it. : )
