weird growth on palythoa?

Hi guys, I recently found some kind of fungus looking growth on paly coral. Does anyone know what this is? also is there any way to get rid of it?

There is really no point to remove it, it won't really harm the Palythoa

It might a bit, most times sponges will show up and if they are not fed then they just die. For how small that one is there should not be any negative effects from its death on the tank

So I thought the sponge would go away but since then it's only gotten bigger. Should I consider trying to remove it or should I just continue to leaving it?
