Hi, semi new to the hobby. I have been running a filterless tank for 4 months now and have had no real problems. I have taken a very low-stress approach, giving my tank time to settle and addressing problems organically. While my GSP’s have begun growing and flourishing, my zoas have been overtaken by first bubble algae and now something similar but different. Would very much appreciate knowing what these clear bubble growths are and how to deal with them.

I'm not sure what those are, maybe someone else is, but definitely recommend manual removal ASAP. Hit them with a soft, unused toothbrush and then siphon up.

I believe bubble algae turns clear as it dies off.

I'm not even sure what you're speaking of in the pic.

If it is the green grape looking thing, then yes, it is bubble algae. Don't pop it. Siphon it off.

Can you provide a full tank shot?

As others have stated, it’s likely just ‘clear’ bubble algae or it could even just be trapped air bubbles. Manual removal or an Emerald crab are your best bets. Once out of the tank, try popping them. If they’re hard to pop, odds are very likely it’s bubble algae. Easy to pop or pop on their own as you’re pulling it out of the tank would likely mean trapped air bubbles
