Weird Haze in Water during Diatoms!

Hey everyone i want to get one thing clear lol I'm not freaking out. I have been down this road before with the "ugly" phase in a new tank 10+ years ago but I don't remember the weird cloudy haze during diatoms. The diatoms came first all spotty everywhere and its progressively getting worse as the days go. Normal I remember, but the haze is throwing me off a little bit. Is it normal? To describe the haze maybe a little better if you look up towards the lights it reminds me of when you put RO water in for top off. I'm going to try and take some pics now and I'll post my params too. Thanks for any help!

Looks like a bacterial bloom. Have you dosed any microbacter or anything like that lately?

I have put in my 2nd dose of microbacter clean on Sunday

I would suspect it’s a bloom then. Do you have a UV? That will clear it up over night, if not should clear itself in a few days.

I don't have a UV but I was thinking about it. With my tank being in the new stages is worth doing that or should I wait to buy one. Also what are some good, but not crazy expensive brands to look at?

I would just wait. I went bare bottom on my new tank set up, and I got blooms every once in a while. They just run their course and disappear. I did however add UV due to a run in with dinos. I went with an Aqua UV on my tank.

No problem!

Only thing to be concerned about is low oxygen with a bloom. If you have fish I’d aerate the water.

Diatom bloom and start with checking TDS of water. In addition, check phosphate levels to assure its not high elevated.
Silicates are another possibility especially if your resins are expired.
You can add Chemipure elite which will polish water and keep phos and nitrate in control.

TDS is good (000) coming out of RO/DI. Phosphate is showing zero also.
