Weird Jack O lantern

I've had my JOL for over 2 months and this is the first time I see this.... the yellow spots look "open".

Is it hungry? Too much light?

Hmm...not sure on that one. How's it looking today? Was that during a time when you were feeding the tank? I'd think if it were hungry, we'd be seeing feeding tentacles, and I'm not seeing those in the pic, so I'm guessing something else is amiss? Maybe give us some more details about what the tank was doing when this happened. Any ideas, #LPSExperts?

Light and placement have been constant. I decided to move it lower on my 18" high tank, and us back to normal....

Looks like it's cleaning the plumbing out. I've had my chalices and favias do it before, don't believe it's anything to be concerned about. Just keep an eye on it.

Low light and flow to start off then med light and low flow.

Thanks would feeding reef riods benefit in any way or just let him go? Also I feel pretty stupid asking but what kind is a JOL sps lps (I don't fully understand it)
