Weird Jebao Failure...

Hey all, just curious if any of you Jebao SW/RW owners have experienced this type of failure. I’m aware of the controllers crapping out, and the ceramic bushing modification but this one doesn’t fit either of those issues.

One of my SW-8s started acting up, and fritzing out. Naturally I suspected the controller, so I plugged it into the other one that works and nope, still doing the same thing. I took it apart, cleaned it, the shaft and bushings are all fine, and it almost seems to be stuck in constant mode with an occasional jerkyness. The controllers buttons all work, Light etc but don’t effect the pump at all. Even if feed mode is engaged the pump keeps going.

Sort of bummed because I found a controller on amazon for like $16 but now it appears the pump itself is toast/shorted out? Anyone else have this happen to theirs?

I have never used these pumps, but it sounds like a problem with the feedback sensor in the motor itself. It generates a signal based on motor speed that can be read by the controller. If this doesn't work correctly/consistently, it could cause the issues you are seeing.

Do you have a spare 24V power supply laying around? It could be the power supply is failing and an inconsistent current or voltage is causing the pump to behave strangely. The Ecotech 24V power supply for my MP10 actually fits the Jebao controller, so if you have one of those, that would likely work to confirm if it's a power supply problem or something else.

I don't believe it would be repairable but again, I don't have experience with these specific pumps. I only understand the tech it uses. It is likely the only way it would be repairable (if it is the problem) is if it a pin connection issue at the plug.
