Has anyone seen fish poop like this? Definitely different from the white stringy internal parasite poop. It looks like phlegm, long stringy clear outer casing with little round brown masses inside. (Similar to frogspawn cluster, rough sketch attached)

Wrasse has gone through Copper, GC (dosed & oral), metro and been in DT for about a month. Her abdomen looks a bit swollen too but she did recently just eat before the picture. Eating and swimming around normally.

I’ve never seen that before but maybe @HotRocks or @4FordFamily has.

Are you sure that’s fecies and not part of his sleeping cocoon? It looks like it’s coming from the Anus but I have to ask.
Yup, definitely being expelled from anus. He's been out all day and pic was taken middle of the day after feeding.

Yeah that’s a new one to me as well. Is he still dragging it along?

Hexamita can cause white or clear feces. Best to treat with Metro + Focus + food so it gets directly to the gut. Treat for 10-14 days.

When I checked during lunch, it was no longer there. Seem to have expelled it out completely.

I'll try another round of oral treatment and hopefully it improves.

I'm wondering if fenbendazole soaked food might be better than GC or Metro soaked food? Her belly does seem a bit more swollen still than usual but this picture from today was taken a few hours after feeding.

I know this thread is a little old but I was wondering if anyone figured this out. I have a scribbled boxfish in quarantine that just did this exact same thing to the drawing above.

You can see at the very bottom of the cup its like a strip of mucous with brown dots in it. I am new to the hobby and I may be overfeeding. I give it hikari marine A pellets one here and there throughout the day and a frozen feeding in the evening. It has brown feces with clear stringy sometime but it isn't white and stringy. It is eating like crazy and always begs for food. Ive had it in quarantine a little over a week now. It acts energetic and healthy but Im just not comfortable pulling the trigger to treat if it might be unnecessary.

My issue resolved itself on its own after a few days and fish went back to looking normal.
