Weird looking Algae

Hi all,

I have a 40 gallon tank and everything is going great, however I noticed about a week ago the coloring of the algae on the left top rock is much more prominent and dark then on all the other rocks and seems to almost have a bubble like effect now. Was just wondering if this is normal and or what it is and how I should go about removing it if it isn’t good.

Has it gotten any worse? Have you tried siphoning it out?

The green algae wouldn’t worry me but I would want to ID the slime under microscope.

If it’s hard, like little plastic bubbles, it would be bubble algae. In any case, algae needs light and nutrients to grow. Keep those in check.

It looks like cynao to me. Just blow it off with a turkey baster.
