We've had this turbo snail for a while now and have noticed this.... thing that looks like a dead dandelion. The thing is reactive (if it bumps something, it has the ability to retreat back toward the snail shell). The seems to be a small hole in the shell where this is actually coming out and I am just completely at a loss trying to identify this. Please help!

Digitate Hydroid perhaps? I can't remember ever seeing a "bloom" like that on the end of one though.

I'm not sure, it really seems to be embedded in our snail. The digitates seem to be a bit more numerous when they are found and also a bit more fancy along the "string" they're attached with.

My first inclination was hydroid too. Pretty sure it is....

It doesn't seem to be bothering anyone in the tank so we will just keep an eye on it. Didn't know about hydroids! Thanks for the help.

Hydroid.
