Hello,
it might be a weird question as most reefers want to get rid of thes little brown anemones. But I want to get some for propagation as I want to breed berghia. I have found someone with infested liverock, that he could ship to my house.
Would aiptasia survive being shipped on liverock wrapped in whet newspaper at under 10°C ?
Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your reply. I have only had one encounter with a verry small aiptasia in my DT wich went pretty quick thanks to aiptasia-x.

Could always bag the rock up with some water and heat packs if you're overly concerned. But as I understand it, Aiptasia being the Wolverine of aquarium pests, should be able to take it.

Had it survive on liverock that was stuck in the mail system for almost a week. Did you consider beadlet anemones? They are a lot more attractive imo. And they can definitely handle being shipped at cold temperatures.

Good luck with your breeding project

Well it's dang near impossible to kill unless you're specifically trying to, and even then it's difficult. I highly doubt shipping, which even fragile things like acros can handle, will be enough to do the job.

That is what I have heared. Shipping coral always went well for me over almost two years even SPS with standard mail over 2 days. I have even read a thread on another forum talking about dry shipping softcorals without heatpack at sub zero temps. pretty amazing what these "fragile" creatures are capable of surviving. That got me thinking that aiptasia should survive it too.
