I did a major move around 3 months ago. I had the tank almost fully stocked with fish and coral and they didn't seem to mind. In fact, my clown stopped bullying my firefish and left some of my corals alone (she tries to host in all of them!).
the clowns and damsels are doing it... one of my pairs at one time slept in one spot against the back glass down in the sand.. they had spots down half way compared to sand around it just like that. and a local reefer just poster recently a damsel doing it.
As soon as someone mentioned about clowns doing it, it clicked that that is what this is. My clowns do it, used to be worse but they have settled down more. I never had a hill THAT big though.
Yeah the sand was covering corals and rock...ill pay closer attention to who it really is. As for the damsels I have seen em shift sand in some live rock but not to the point where the sand looks a gopher came out of
