Weird sand structyre

So when i got home today i checked my aquarium and i saw this at the bottom of my tank i pulled it out thinking it maybe a plastic covered in sand or something but nope it’s entirely made of sand anyone know what it is? Who made it or how it came to be?

It almost looks like sand filled a shell and then the shell was ripped off or evaporated into thin air...

Yep check out the article in that link, they make this structure to lay their eggs apparently.
