weird shrimp things

ok so i was looking at my tank and all of a sudden i saw like 5 of these tiny little things start bouncing around
i thought at first amphipods but the more i looked at them they seemed slimmer and they seemed to fight with each other as well dose anyone know what these tiny guys are
the best way i can describe them are small and long with two antennas and then small little arm things
and i know they aren’t the best pictures as well as the vid i’m going to try to post

ok so they have buried themselves in the sad and they put out these like claws out and they strike everything that gets really close

It’s most likely some kind of amphipod, but the exact ID, I do not know. I wouldn’t imagine they’d be an issue, but I’d keep an eye on them. If they do become a problem, you could probably try a reef-safe wrasse

yea that’s what i was thinking was just getting a wrasse they seemed to leave all my corals alone though they are normally on the glass and near the sand

1/4”, or even a tad larger

oh ok would a type of pygmy wrasse eat them

i also could only find and see only 6 of them as well

I have a ton in my tank right now, cause my tank is currently on its 74th day of being fallow. With there being no fish, and pods galore, these things are everywhere! I haven’t seen them bother the corals though, and my coral banded shrimp is having a blast. I’m sure once the fish are introduced it’ll balance out

I have a ton in my tank right now, cause my tank is currently on its 74th day of being fallow. With there being no fish, and pods galore, these things are everywhere! I haven’t seen them bother the corals though, and my coral banded shrimp is having a blast. I’m sure once the fish are introduced it’ll balance out

yea i think these may be benifitial they did do a weird thing were they put the top half out of the sand and they extended their claws and attacked each other but right now they are just chilling on the back glass

That’s always a safe bet- especially when you can’t directly ID it, or when it’s something as varying as isopods.

they kinda looked like these things Anthuridae or something
