Weird spot on Foxface

Hello,

my foxface has developed this ‘spot’ over night. He was and still is eating and swimming normally. His belly is nice and round.

Any ideas? To me it looks like an infected scratch injury.

What should my next steps be?

I have never seen anything like this. Thank you for your help! I appreciate it.

Mmmm I’m not sure but it might be an injury. What other fish do you have in your tank? Anyone being aggressive towards it? It may have just scraped itself against the rockwork, but it would also be helpful to know what fish might be bullying it.

Agree that it's probably a rub mark that may be infected. A fat happy well fed fish should heal itself.
But watch for growth of white filmy area, redness, or necrosis of the tissue. Do you have antibiotics, Ruby Reef Rally just in case?
