I'm not sure, but it may be coming from my feathered dusters. It's kind of mucus -like and recently, around both my 2 feather dusters in the tank, both in opposite sides of the aquarium, I started seeing this stuff. also recently, the 2 feather dusters seemed to sprout out the side of their own tubes. I figured that part was normal, what about the mucus? Is that normal? The fish are currently swimming through it and it sometimes gets caught in their fins. it doesn't seem to be doing any harm, so I just keep cleaning it up.

should I be concerned with some sort of bacterial outbreak coming?

Do you have vermatid snails? Looks sort of like their slime.

it totally does look like that type of mucus, though I'm not sure I have vermatids. this stuff is definitely coming from the feather duster's.
