This sump was not supposed to come this way. The far right is supposed to be for the main drain, but you can see the baffle goes all the way to the bottom, so that’s not going to work. The baffle was supposed to be raised a little bit for water to flow under.
What do you think is the best way to utilize this sump? I’m thinking the second chamber from the right needs to be for the main drain and the far left for my return pump.
That would leave the far right chamber empty, but maybe I can use it as an RODI chamber for my ATO. What do you think about that?
That far right chamber will hold about 7.5 gallons. That leaves me 40-gallons for the rest of the sump for saltwater to flow through. My display tank is 120 gallons. Do you think 40-gallons can support it?
I know I could take a baffle out or make a big stink about it showing up the wrong way, but I don’t feel like doing that.
Any other ideas how to best utilize this sump? Thanks

Honestly It sounds like you've hammered out a solid plan to deal with the issues. It's still a pretty beautiful sump and I can't for the life of me see anything wrong with your adjusted plan. 40 Gallons is plenty for a sump for most setups including your 120:) any plans for the second section from the right? Smaller fuge area possibly?

All in all it seems like just a slightly smaller version of what you had origionally planned but with an ATO Reservoir :)

Oh and BTW I commend you on trying to turn a negative situation into a positive one and working with it. Not many, myself included, would be able to keep there head up and moving forward.

Thanks, I appreciate the reply and feedback. Good to know 40-gallons will be big enough. For that one section, maybe a fuge someday, but for now probably somewhere to throw some rubble that I’ll eventually mount frags to.

Seems like a top off section, just make sure it's water tight before you put fresh water in it.
