Bulk reef 6 stage 75gpd system….carbon and sediment filters changed within last 3 months. I run separate di resins, cat ion first, an ion second. Up until tonight never had any issues. I changed out the an ion from a bulk bag from BRS that I have been using for last few changes so it’s not a new bag. Bag always sealed closed and I also place it inside a vacuum seal bag and seal with a food saver sealer. Tap the resin down as I fill cartridge then use a 1/3 measuring cup that fits perfectly into the opening to press the resin as tight as I can get it. Before screwing on the bottom. Anyway, I ran flush valve for 15-20 minutes before starting the rinse of the new di resin. So far have ran 5-6 gallons through it and the TDS out won’t drop below 1. The TDS in is only 5. Normally within 2-3 gallons I am at 0. I have even disassembled the meter probe and cleaned it off just in case. I am at a loss as to what could be the issue. Maybe batteries in meter box? Any ideas from the peanut gallery?

You could try a couple things. Make sure the probe has the water running between the "goalposts" and not inline with the flow. the other thing is switch your ins and outs see if the probes read the same in the new spots. This way you can eliminate the probe aspect of it. Then maybe empty and repack the canister. Maybe the resin got some mold issues?

So i swapped the probes, same thing, 1 tds. When you say empty and repack, can i reuse the same resin? I don’t think it’s a mold issue as i vacuum seal the unused portion of resin after every use.

I don't run separate DI so this is just a guess on how I understand it working. You don't mention changing the cation so could the cation be letting something thru that it should be taking out and the anion can't remove? Also, I thought most people that ran separate DI still ran the third canister of mixed bed DI.

The cat ion hasn’t changed color in over a year…its just now barely changing

I don't really think its a mold issue either, just the off chance it was a very humid day last time you used it and packed some moisture in the bag.. Yes, use the same stuff, the idea was if the off chance some weird vacuum or air pocket was causing some flow issues?

So for poops and laughs I changed out the cat ion. Even though it hadn’t changed colors, once I changed it and rinsed it for 5 minutes the tds dropped to zero. Does Cat Ion not change colors?

Well, it is supposed to change to yellowish BRS stuff. It should also say on the package. It is a mystery, but I am glad you got it sorted out.
