So i cant post a pic of tbis guy because hes sensitive to light. The moment the camera flashes hes gone. But ill describe it best i can. Basically its a black tantacle with white rings around it couming from a hole in my rock. At the end looks like some kind of opening. A mouth? Maybe? But hes very thing and maybe 2 inches long when extended out.. Sorry i know it helps with pictures but he only comes out at dark and the moment any light comes on he retracts immediately. But if you have any suggestions ill look them up and compare pictures.

Polychaete Chaetopterid Spionid (Tube Worm)?

Maybe it wont retract with a red filter over a light source...then you might be able to get a picture..

I have a red light but the picture quality is to poor

The best thing I've found that i can say is a harliquin star fish but i don't see where the rest of the body would be hiding because the whole its hiding in isn't big. Its a small shallow hole in my rock.

I think I have the exact same things you're describing. Been in my tank for years and they're everywhere now. They don't seem to harm any corals or anything else. Just really weird looking. They look like the trunk of a nassarius snail coming out of a rock just poking around for food. Every time I shine my flash to take a video, they retract into the rock and just disappear. No tube or shell or anything. I've looked at every hitchhiker list and never been able to find a match. Will keep trying to get a good video!

Yeah that sounds exactly like what i got. I just saw it again lastnight on the same rock but a diferent hole. Once i shined a light kn it gone. Its just a smooth black and white tentacle that probes around with the tip of it.

Ok I got a semi decent video of it the other night. Its behind the feather duster.

Thats exactly what i have in my tank to.. But i looked ag a photo of a peanut worm and looks nothing like it.

If you google peanut worm and look there are ones colored/banded exactly like yours
