Does anyone know what strange stuff is on the glass ?

looks like an asterina starfish. varied opinions, but harmless micro cleaner in my experience.

Agree asterina. They come and go in my tanks and never seem to bother anything. For me they are one of those mystery critters that show up from some mysterious place, probably where the pods and worms come from around the 6-9 month mark and never really go totally away.

For future reference never take identification pics with blue lighting. Agree with above tho.

It'll help along the way. Blues just wash out any small identifying issues. See it a lot with fish illness posts.
