Weird toadstool leather growth

What’s going on with this toadstool? I’ve had it for 3 months and it started out short with a large head but now it’s tripled in length but the head has shrunk 3x… all other corals are growing like crazy and having babies. Water parameters are all in range and the lighting is strong. Any clue what’s up?

How is the flow and oxygen in the tank? The surface is completely still, you can see dust floating on it. This impedes gas exchange and light penetration.

There should be a powerhead pointed at the surface to help keep the surface agitated. I am guessing the toadstool either wants more flow or more light, maybe both.

That’s what I thought initially too but the light is growing SPS.. they are NICREW 100W running at 75% peak intensity.. 10 hours/day with ramp up and ramp down

This surface is not still at all. I have a nero 5 two inches below the water line

IME Toadstools are not too particular about light, it's the flow that seems to be the trick with these things. The more chaotic the better. This keeps the crown from accumulating detritus and the coral will become shorter and stockier as opposed to tall and lanky. GL.
