So the weirdest thing is happening with my torch and maybe you guys can help me out. I’ve had it for over a year. Every day it’s fully out and thriving but lately, for the last couple weeks about an hour before lights out it’s retracts almost fully into it’s skeleton. I’ve never seen anything irritating it. Below are 2 pics. The first is a random pic of how it looks most days sometimes more extended, and the second taken just now, is how it’s been looking about an hour before lights out. I’m so confused....

Btw none of my other corals seem to be getting affected....

Again...happened tonight. Was completely open all day until about 10 minutes ago when I walked up to the tank to feed the fish, then before my eyes closed up, lights on, flow on. Do they have an internal clock or somthing? Lights go out at 9/10 depending on time of year and daylights savings. This time of year they go out at 9. I’m so confused!!

Yesterday the torch was open all day and didn’t close at all

Okay, I don’t have any revive but maybe I’ll get some. I find it strange that I would have to dip it but maybe your right

All of my Euphyllia close like that when the lights start to dim, as long as your not seeing any real retraction where you can see the skeleton I would say it’s fine. There is no point in dipping and messing with the coral if there is no real issue

Alright thanks, it’s been opening normally it’s just strange that it’s been closing like this out of no where

I've been having success with the following dips:

brightwell medicoral for ~8 mins. i use a lot more than the dose recommendation. enough so that the water is slight yellow tint

then in another dip for 8 mins with brightwell aminos, iodine, & brightwell restor.

then rinse in tank water and place in a spot with low flow.

if you notice it is not doing well, take it for a dip. 1-3 times a week until polyp extension improves

IMO there is a problem.

It is retreating into it's skeleton, and showing it's skeleton. that's never a good sign in euph for me.

What's your Nitrates, and Phosphates?

Alk?

A dip could help as long as there's no water param issues.

This didn't split recently did it?
