I have some white growth in a new 180 gallon acrylic tank that I haven’t completely filled yet or started the sump. I have three Nero 5 power heads to keep the water moving while I take my time filling up the tank.
I added salt then a day or two later the white stuff started showing up. Not sure if it’s a mold, fungus or an algae. I just finished my plumbing and I’m filling the tank up the rest of the way but should I remove this or let the socks handle it?

Thanks in advanced!

Maybe salt from the froth. How’s the flow. My 10 g rimless had this before while using just the tiny power head it came with. Until I put a wavemaker n got things moving

I have 3 Nero 5 power heads running the flow is great. The salt I just poured a bag in of fritz rpm and then this. I was thinking it’s precipitation or calcium but not really sure. Never happened to me before in my other tanks. I did let the water sit for a while but it recently started this growth after the salt addition. I’m considering emptying the tank and cleaning with vinegar then starting over on water.

Here is my temperature probe covered.
