I noticed weird white stuff where flesh and skeleton meet on my bowerbankii. Should I be worried? I used tap water with de-chlorinator earlier this week. I lost my 6-line wrasse today morning. Phosphate levels were high. So water alkalinity and calcium. I have done two 60% water changes with RODI water today. All other water parameters were ok. The tank is 2 months old. The coral have been in there for 1.5 months.

What is that red dot on its side (right side of the picture)? Only noticed it this week.

Edit: Updated with a better picture.

See messenterial filaments, a defensive response :)

Nematocysts which are evasive and can sting coral. Cut away with a hobby exacto knife

If it’s showing a feeding response like that, feed it some mysis, it may buy you some time.

Don’t touch the filaments, clean the skeleton of the “red things” keep good water and feed it it’ll be alright
